CA subsidiary, ACCPAC acquires Indian arm

BANGALORE: ACCPAC International, a subsidiary of the US-based Computer Associates, announced Thursday that it has consolidated its presence in India by gaining full ownership of its Indian arm, ACCPAC India Private Limited. ACCPAC India, was formerly a 49:51 joint venture between Pentasoft Technologies and ACCPAC. The financial details of the purchase were not disclosed. ACCPAC India general manager, Rajesh Ghosh said, "We are still working out the details of investment, the team and the kind of developmental activities to be taken up. We have just the marketing team and presently employ around 20 professionals in India". ACCPAC is a global provider of end-end business management applications for small and medium business (SMBs). It plans to set up a software development center in Bangalore by the year-end. In addition to its existing headquarters in Bangalore, the company is setting up branch offices in both Mumbai and Delhi, and also plans to expand to a number of secondary cities. Says Rajesh, " ACCPAC has strong presence in APAC market and our expanded operations in India further solidifies our commitment to this important region." He also revealed that the company would focus on the SMB market and offer end-to-end business management applications at lower cost and shorter implementation time.
