Bangalore: Buffalo, a company that deals with design, development and manufacturing of wired and wireless networking, storage and memory solutions, has announced the launch of MiniStation PX series in India. This MiniStation is about the size of a small paperback book and comes with attached USB cable as part of the design. The cable can be wrapped around the drive. "Packed with hardware and many features the MiniStation PX Series is the ultimate passport to storage portability and power," said the Country Head, Susumu Kobayashi. MiniStation is equipped with Buffalo's BumperBody shock absorbers that surround the hard drive inside a sturdy body that also has rubberized protectors on the outside. The shock resistant protection elements surrounding the hard disk protect the data from damage. The integrated Flex connect USB 2.0 cable can snap into chasis for pack-and-go portability and ensures that the user never loses the cable again. Since it is USB powered, no external power supply is needed. The MiniStation comes preloaded with Google Picasa software. Users also have an option of turning on the integrated hardware encryption feature to automatically encrypt the data on the drive. Full Disk Encryption (FDE) protects the data from unauthorized access if lost or stolen. Its E-Z Logon ensures that the user has to enter password only once. It also helps to store, back up and transport digital files without taking up space on computer. The MiniStation comes along with Memeo Auto Backup for Windows and Macintosh. The Ministation is backed with a three year warranty and is available in two capacities, HD-PX320U2 (320GB) priced at 9000 and MiniStation HD-PX500U2 (500GB) available for 14000. It can be purchased in three vibrant colors, red, black and white.
