Brooks Automation to invest $15 M

CHENNAI: US based Brooks Automation will invest over $15 million in its Indian operations over the next three years. Of that $10 million will go towards paying salaries as the company intends to up its headcount at its software development center in Chennai, Company Senior Vice-president Jeff Cassis said. The company will raise its headcount to 95 by the end of 2005 from the present 62. Brooks Automation's software division develops software that helps in improving the efficiency of manufacturing processes. Last year, its revenues were $120 million and the company expects it to grow by about 25 percent, Cassis informed and said revenues from India operations would be then 25 percent each year over the following three years.
