The company plans to offer Product Distribution, Integrated Supply Chain & Logistics Services, Fixed Wireless Manufacturing, Wireless Data & Telecom Solutions and Emerging Technologies. Brightstar Corporation India’s Country Head, Arun Batra said, “Wireless service in India is expected to grow exponentially in the near future. But even with a population of over a billion it is still a highly under penetrated market in terms of both wireline and wireless communications when compared to countries like Korea, Malaysia and China. Also with newer international brands entering India, there is a need to streamline the logistics involved in the distribution of mobile devices and wireless services.” The company operates 29 facilities in 23 countries worldwide and it is expected to exceed revenues of $2.5 billion in 2005 with a 75% year over year growth in wireless devices. In the year 2004, the company marketed, sold & distributed over 18 million devices globally from the industries leading manufacturers; this amount represents almost 3 percent of the worldwide wireless devices sales. This year Brightstar eyes to handle over 25 million devices.
