Bridgestone takes outsource road to India

HYDERABAD:Japanese tire maker, Bridgestone has decided to outsource its 2,000-user SAP function to Satyam Computer Services of Hyderabad. Under the agreement, Satyam will provide application maintenance and support services to Bridgestone Europe for a three-year period. Bridgestone has six factories, one technical center and a number of regional distribution centers, warehouses and sales companies across Europe, and has its headquarters in Brussels. The company uses various SAP modules including warehouse management. Joe O’Neill, Bridgestone Europe IT director, said, "We are constantly looking at ways of getting more out of our existing SAP investments. We believe our partnership with Satyam will help realize the fullest potential of our SAP systems and maintain our competitive edge." Manish Mehta, Satyam director and senior vice-president, added, "We believe that Satyam’s in-depth business and technical know-how of the intricacies involved in running large SAP installations can be leveraged to bring great results for Bridgestone."
