NEW DELHI: British entrepreneur Richard Branson is considering starting his own low-cost airline in India rather than taking a stake in an existing carrier, according to The Business newspaper here. Branson, whose empire stretches from planes and trains to music, wedding dresses and telecom, had said last month that his Virgin group was in talks with Air Deccan as it looked forward to investing in India. But the London newspaper said while talks with Air Deccan were still on, Branson was looking at putting his own money into a venture that would carry the name of a local brand. It said Branson's plans would be announced within three to four months.
