'Bom Sabado' worm hits Orkut
Bangalore: After Facebook and Twitter, it's the social networking site Orkut that has fall prey to a virus attack. Orkut has been hit by a worm named 'Bom Sabado', which means 'Good Saturday' in Portuguese. According to analyst, the worm attacks the XSS (cross-site scripting) of the site and seems to be posting scraps with the text "Bom Sabado" and is sent to the users account by the name of the other friends account. As per report of the sources, the worm also adds affected users to new Orkut groups. According to security professionals, the users should not log into their Orkut account until the problem gets solved. They have also advised users not to click on any suspicious links. Orkut had just last month announced new updates to the website. Earlier this week, Twitter was also at the receiving end of an XSS exploit. The attack involved a XSS flaw that allowed users to run JavaScript programs on other computers. Earlier this month, Facebook also faced networking glitches due to an outside technical problem.
