Blackberry Torch 9810 smartphone now available in India

Bangalore: The Blackberry Torch 9810 smartphone launched recently is now available in India. Letsbuy is offering the handset at 29,749 Measuring 111mm x 62mm x 14.6mm, the device features a 3.2-inch TFT LCD screen which displays a resolution of 680 x 480 pixels, and comes with an optical track pad. It provides a combination of touch screen functionality with a QWERTY keypad. The handset incorporates a 1.2GHz processor and runs on the latest Blackberry 7.0 Operating System which facilitates better net browsing and provides enhanced graphics. It has a 786MB RAM and a user memory of 8MB. The external memory is expandable up to 32GB. The 161 grams handset also carries a single 5MP camera with 4x digital zoom with LED flash. The device is also equipped with a magnetic compass for supporting applications like Wikitude and voice activated universal search. The smartphone is GPRS, EDGE and WLAN enabled. It supports 3G with a download speed of 14.4MBps HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access), and Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP connectivity. It has a 1270 mAh battery and can play for up to 7 hours of video and music for about 54 hours. The standby time offered by the battery is 12.8 days and 6.3 hours. Apart from these features, the Blackberry Messenger (BBM) has also been updated allowing it to integrate with many applications such as games. The handset is available online through Letsbuy and has a warranty period of one year. Blackberry which was the sole leader in business phone market in India has slipped down the ladder. The company has been facing stiff competition from Apple and Android. The latest handset release had aimed at resurrecting the company as the dominant brand it used to be.
