United States of America

The United States Armed Forces is the second largest Army in the world made of 1,458,500 standing military personnel. The USA’s armed forces consist of Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard. With assistance from United States Department of Defense, the President heads the military overall and frames military policies. The army is a military service within the Department of the Army, which is one of the three military departments of the Department of Defense.

India

The Indian Armed Forces consist of total 1,325,000 defence staff and 960,000 reserve personnel. India’s defence comprises of Army, Navy, Air Force and Indian Coast Guard supported by Paramilitary forces along with several inter-service institutions such as the Strategic Forces Command. The Indian Army is the land-based branch and the largest component of the Indian Armed Forces. The President of India is the Commander-in-Chief of the army.
