BenQ launches its range of digital cameras in India

MUMBAI: BenQ, an industry leader in networking lifestyle devices, today announced its entry into the Indian digital camera market. Bringing its entire range to India, BenQ digicams will be available across the 2 to 5 megapixel range priced between 9,000- 24,000. With plans to capture 15% of the Indian digicam market in calendar year 2004, BenQ will be launching 4 models now, and another 5 models in Q3 of '04 taking the digicam portfolio to a total of nine. Targeted primarily at young professionals and technology savvy consumers making a shift from film based cameras to digital cameras, BenQ digicams are designed to push the boundaries for high quality digital consumer experience. BenQ digicams will be made available in key retail outlets and photo shops across major metros. The digicams will also be distributed through the IT retail channel for which BenQ has tied up with Aditya, a leading national distributor of IT products with over nine years of experience. Aditya has 22 branch offices supporting a network of more than 1200 resellers nationwide. The company will also invest in a series of flagship stores housing the entire range of digital lifestyle enjoyment consumer products.
