Bell ties up with Indian Labs

FORT WORTH: Several Indian laboratories have tied up with U.S. aviation major Bell Helicopters to develop a futuristic fancraft for anti-terrorism operations and emergency medical services in urban areas.
Kevin Connell, VP, Bell Xworx Division said, The X-Hawk will be capable of flying at street level and between buildings in crowded cities with squads of marines. Though X-hawk is being worked on by Bell in collaboration with Israels Urban Aeronautics, Connell said that Indias HAL, NAL And IITs were among the facilities to collaborate in developing Xworx with their advanced computer software and knowledge of lightweight composite material.
While collaborating with the Indian entities, Bell is specifically working with NAL to establish the use of airbags to protect helicopters during a crash.
