Battery Ventures promotes Sunil Dhaliwal

SAN MATEO, CA: Battery Ventures has promoted Sunil Dhaliwal principal to partner. Dhaliwal joined Battery's Wellesley, Mass. office in 1998. He focuses on investments in information technology infrastructure and tech-enabled services. Prior to joining Battery, he worked for Alex Brown & Sons Inc., where he executed equity financings, and mergers and acquisitions in the communications and software industries. Dhaliwal also serves on the board of Netezza Corp. and acts as a board observer at CipherTrust Inc. He has also held board seats at Storability Inc. and @stake Inc. Battery is investing out of Battery Ventures VII, a $450 million fund raised at the end of 2004. Founded in 1983, Battery Ventures is a venture capital firm focused on investing in technology companies from seed to later stage and tech buyouts. The firm has invested in more than 180 companies across information technology industries. With offices in Wellesley, Mass. and San Mateo, Calif., the partnership manages more than $2 billion in committed capital.
