NEW DELHI: Five Global Leadership Awards will be presented as part of the Indian Leadership Forum, one of the country's most prestigious conclaves on IT, to be attended by 1,200 delegates from India and abroad. The National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom) said Monday it would be holding this year's session from Feb 8 to 10 in Mumbai. Close to 1,200 delegates are expected to participate in the forum, including Scott Griffin, chief information officer of Boeing, and Brad Boston, chief information officer of Cisco. The award for creativity will be given to Craig R. Barrett, CEO of Intel, whereas that for vision will be given to Carly Fiorina, CEO of Hewlett-Packard. The award for excellence as a business leader will go to Stephen Green, group chief executive of HSBC Holdings, whereas the award for IT usage will be given to Masamoto Yashiro, CEO of Shinsei Bank, Japan. Heinrich V. Pierer, CEO Siemens AG, will receive the award for innovation. This is the first time Nasscom is presenting the awards. The award distribution ceremony will be held Feb 9. "India's IT industry is on track to meet all its growth targets and the projection for the next five years also looks positive. The session would give a lot of opportunity to Indian professionals to interact with those from around the world," said Kiran Karnik, president of Nasscom. Over 30 sessions addressed by over 100 speakers will be held on topics ranging from the evolution of IT, unusual innovations and global power shifts between India and China, the organisers said.
