Bangalore: Imagine sitting in a restaurant and ordering food from a tablet menu which tells you detail of the food origin, offer you suggestion on what to take, along with an option to do other things like booking movie tickets, surfing the internet and playing games. This tablet as advanced as it may sound is not something from the future but very much available in present, thanks to a Banglore based start-up Tvara Tech solutions. The platform, which can be deployed at restaurant tabletops, hotel rooms, cabs and fleet vehicle, enables the delivery of value added services such as playing music and videos, Internet browsing, as well as running customized applications for the respective sector, reports CIOL. The device is also capable of accepting payments from credit/debit card. It has a 8.9 inches touch screen display and supports GPRS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. "This configurable, semi-rugged device can withstand heat, humidity, vibration. It is bundled with embedded applications for the Hospitality and Automotive sectors," said Shyam Shetty, CEO of Tvara Tech Solutions to Deccan Chronicle. The device will also have hosted and managed services like interactive, location and demographics-based advertisements, cross-selling communication and third party content in each of the devices. The content framework accommodates integration of third party services accessible by the customer, enabling booking of movie and airline tickets, shopping and more. "The solution would not only enhance customer experience, but also help increase revenue and simplify operations. We position the solution as an investment that can enable significant return on investment, and not as a discretionary expense," said Shetty. Tvara plans to sell around Rs 10,000 units within one year. The tablet is currently priced at 35,000 to 40,000.
