Bangalore: The most awaited ambitious project for honeymooner space luxury, the 'Space City' is set to materialize itself as Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, Head of the State Government's high-level clearance committee on investments, gave approval for it. The dream world of a honeymoon space luxury is set to embark in an area of Bagepalli in Chickballapur district, with 1,600 acres at a humongous amount of Rs 18,500 crore. It is just 100 km away from Bangalore. The hotels in the 'Space City' would range from three stars to six stars and other attractions will include UFOs, galaxy-shaped shuttle station, and a virtual museum. The Space City's major focus is to boost real estate, hotels and hospitality, leisure and tourism sectors. Marib Infrastructure, a joint venture of Abu Dhabi and Malaysian firms is the promoter of this new plan. The project aims to be pollution free and with regard to this, it will have monorail and electronic cars. It will also provide employment to 20,000 people. It would focus heavily on science, technology, innovation, art, design, ecology and entertainment which are a state-of-the-art multi-functional educational, entertainment project. The two challenges of the project are acquisition of land and water. The government suggests the project promoter to use rain water harvesting. And since it is a dry area, land wouldn't be a problem.
