BSNL partners with Microsoft India for SaaS foray
Bangalore: Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL) has entered in partnership with Microsoft to launch BSNL Managed SaaS (Software as a Service) in India. This partnership will enable BSNL to offer hosted solutions on core Productivity, Collaboration and Line of Business Applications to business customers. BSNL also launched Business Mail, the first product from this partnership. "Managed Business Mail is an innovative messaging and collaboration service for Indian businesses that will provide enterprises and SMBs with rich enterprise-class email applications that deliver 24X7 access and significant productivity benefits-all at an affordable price," said Kuldeep Goyal, Chairman and Managing Director, BSNL. BSNL Managed Business Mail will provide tools to increase productivity, mobility and collaboration at an affordable monthly fee. A person can share email messages, contacts, calendars, task lists and documents from any device (PC or mobile phone). This service will be offered through internet and hence will help in saving cost related hardware, licenses and installation. Business owner will not have to worry about IT headaches like security patches, software updates, monitoring and backups. "We believe that BSNL's foray into the S+S model will provide ample value to businesses looking to leverage technology to maximize productivity while ensuring lower spends-especially in today's cost controlled environment," said Rajan Anandan, Managing Director, Microsoft India. BSNL Managed Business Mail will be available in four editions at affordable prices starting from 420 per month. It will provide anytime access to all messaging features such as mailbox, calendars, contacts, and public folders - even when offline - and continue working, regardless of network connectivity. "We believe that Microsoft Hosted Exchange is a compelling proposition that will help us deliver more choice, flexibility and affordability for customers," said Goyal.
