PUNE: BMC Software Inc, the enterprise systems management provider, has announced that it is gearing up to significantly expand its Indian operations based out of Pune. The company is all set to double its headcount from 600 at present to 1,500 in the next few years, Robert E Beauchamp, President and CEO of the company said. BMC Software India is one of the company’s key operations and has architects involved in a range of complete product development work, according to Beauchamp. The India operations of the Texas-based company also support a large percentage of global R&D work, he added. BMC will increase its presence in India aggressively. Beauchamp said, “We want to sell more in India. We have grown at over 80 percent in the last two years.” BMC's products are being used by the financial sector, the telecom space and by the government. One of its major clients is the outsourcing industry, which chiefly uses its help desk solution. The company, which tied up with Symphony, a Pune-based company, will outsource product development to the latter in certain areas. The company will achieve growth in sales by enabling its partners in India, according to Nitin Deshpande, President and CEO of BMC Software India.
