BHEL bags Rs 250 million Orissa project

NEW DELHI: Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has bagged a Rs 250-million turnkey contract to set up a 400 KV grid substation in Orissa to improve power supply in Baripada and Mayurbhanj districts. The order by state-owned transmission major Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd envisages setting up and linking the 400 KV grid substations at Baripada with the 400KV single circuit Kolaghat-Renali transmission line. According to a BHEL press statement Monday, the project is to be commissioned in 20 months. With expertise in handling high-technology transmission projects, BHEL has commissioned several major substation projects in India and like Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Libya, Tanzania and Ghana.
