BEML- SAS ink pact for Service Parts Optimization solutions

Mumbai: To analyze its complicated inventory data, BEML, the second largest heavy earth-moving machinery Manufacturing organization in Asia, has recently installed the Service Parts Optimization solutions of SAS, the leader in business analytics software and services. Vayam Technologies, the Indian partner of SAS has implemented the solution at BEML. Sudipta K. Sen, Regional Director, South-East Asia, CEO and Managing Director, SAS India, said, "This has been a great win for SAS India in the public sector and we are proud to be assisting BEML in their strategic efforts. SAS is helping BEML analyze complicated inventory data and unearth hidden relationships and patterns in inventory data volumes, thereby helping to minimize its expenditure and optimize its inventory." BEML faced major challenges in forecasting the demand stream of spare parts as it has a very intricate set up of 25 regional depots and more than 70 Products with 210,000 SKUs spread across India, the Middle East, Africa and Brazil. The SAS Service Parts Optimization solution helps them accomplish these challenges.
