Bangalore: In order to grab the opportunity in the Indian market for surveillance systems, network video solutions provider Axis Communications has launched its thermal network surveillance cameras in the country. The AXIS Q1910 and AXIS Q1910-E use thermal imaging, which can enable users to detect people and incidents with better reliability, even in complete darkness. The thermal camera creates images based on the heat that always radiates from any object, vehicle or person. The camera delivers images that allow operators to detect and act on suspicious activities. According to Lee Oh Tee, Regional Director, South Asia Pacific, Axis Communications, the thermal cameras can be operated or handled in any difficult weather conditions better than conventional cameras. "Until now there have been no full-featured thermal network cameras in the market, and analog thermal cameras have proven a challenge to integrate with modern video surveillance systems," says Tee. According to a report by IMS, network video products are expected to account for between 40 and 50 percent of total new surveillance camera sales by 2014. In 2007, the company set up its sales office in India and it has expanded its domestic partner network through its various programs. "Today, we have 608 partners and has witnessed over 60 percent growth in India," says Prakash Prabhu, Country Manager, Axis Communication India. Some of the Indian organizations using the solutions by the company include Hyderabad International Airport, D.Y. Patil Stadium in Mumbai, BPCL and NTPC.
