Avineon acquires data service provider

HYDERABAD: The US based Avineon Inc, a leading IT services and products company with a software development facility here, Friday announced the acquisition of Florida-based AGRA Baymont Inc., a leading data service provider. "The acquisition of Baymont increases Avineon's presence as a leading provider of geo-spatial solutions, while enhancing its strategic position in the industry," the company said in a statement here Friday. With offices in India and Europe beside the U.S., Avineon has successfully completed several projects through its Indian offshore and U.S.-based technical resources. Its clients include AT&T, RasGas of Qatar, Potomac Electric Power Company and various U.S. government agencies. Baymont brings over 20 years of experience in geographic information systems (GIS), automated mapping and facilities management, mapping and photo-grammetry services to Avineon. "This acquisition dramatically expands our expertise and resources to serve the needs of the GIS marketplace," said Karlu Rambhala, president and CEO of Avineon. "With this acquisition, Avineon now offers the full range of services necessary for successful GIS implementation, including needs analysis, specification development, software development, training, project management," the statement said. Avineon's Baymont division will continue operations as the focal point for the company's GIS service offerings. These services include environmental and photo-grammetric mapping for government agencies, mapping for telephone, electric, gas, water, and wastewater utilities, and a variety of other geo-spatial services. Scott McCaw, senior Vice President of AGRA Baymont's parent company, AMEC Inc., said: "We are confident that Avineon will deliver the high quality of service to which Baymont's clients are accustomed.
