New Delhi: Assocham, one of the three leading business chambers, has hired consultancy firm Deloitte to prepare a roadmap for its future growth and becoming "world class" institution. "Yes, we have engaged Deloitte as we are growing very fast and want to become a world class institution," Assocham Secretary General D.S. Rawat said to PTI. Deloitte is assessing both the weak and strong points of Assocham, which has a direct membership of 2,500 industrial houses. Rawat said his chamber is growing fast and expanding its base in major cities. It has opened regional offices in Kolkata, Bangalore and Ahmedabad. The chamber would be building its eight-storey premises in south Delhi soon, he said. The consultancy firm would also dig into the role of the chamber in influencing public policy, international partnerships and serving the stakeholders' interest. Headed by Swati Piramal of Piramal Healthcare, Assocham was established in 1920 and competes with Ficci and CII at the national level.
