Shanghai: Asia's personal computer shipment rose by 15 percent with Lenovo spearheading the race. The second quarter reported an increase in the shipment to nearly 19 million units, according to market research firm International Data Corp (IDC). However, IDC observed that the Asian market lags four percent behind the expected proposition. The key market regions like in India, Korea and Taiwan are seen to have a constrained growth than expected. As said by an analyst Bryan Ma, "The Asia/Pacific region's PC market finally started to feel some of the pressure from the global economic situation this quarter. However, this doesn't mean that the market is headed into a downward spiral." Lenovo Group maintained its lead in the second quarter, with its market share increasing 0.2 percent for the second quarter of last year. Hewlett-Packard (HP) came the second with a market share of 14 percent and shipments increased 19 percent. Dell was the third largest with 8.9 percent market-share and 45.7 percent rise in shipments.
