Are high end mobile phones battery killers?

The older generation of nickel cadmium batteries suffered from memory issues; if you didn't fully charge and discharge one, it would hold a progressively smaller amount of juice. Today's lithium-ion batteries don't suffer from memory loss, so it is safe to top off a battery.

2: although these smart-phones consume more power than a normal phone...it is still considerably less than tht consumed by a net-book...
the primary purpose of a net-book is easily served by a smart-phone.... at a much less cost to environment...

Aren't the gadgets on all the time. That may be a reason for your quick battery drainage.

8: It is obvious that more the application runs, it will drain more battery and also depend on the display size and brightness, but to overcome this there should some alternative way to recharge the battery while phone is not in use. Research is going on this subject, hopefully some solution will come out soon.
