Aptech ranked No.1 in China

MUMBAI:Indian IT education and training major Aptech, was ranked Number One in IT training market for the third consecutive year in China and it earned a revenue of $40 million in 2004. According to China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID) report, Aptech maintained its top position in the IT training market in China and doubled its market share to around 15 percent in 2004, a company statement said. During 2004, Aptech, with a market share of 14.8 percent, achieved the ranking ahead of other players including Science Institute of Software (10.3 percent market share) and another Indian firm NIIT, which had a market share of 7.9 percent. Aptech garnered revenue of around $40 million in 2004 and over 52,000 students enrolled for Aptech’s courses through 150 Aptech centers in China. "Aptech’s market share in China has grown by nearly 100 percent, which is the highest growth rate by any company in the IT education segment, largely due to our geographical spread combined with our well-researched courses suited to the Chinese market," CEO and Managing Director, Aptech, Pramod Khera said in the statement. Aptech started its operations in China in 2000 through its joint venture -- Aptech Beida Jadebird IT Co Ltd. Aptech has 150 centers in 57 cities of China.
