Anna Hazare Goes Online With Tweets And Blogs
Bangalore: To feel the pulse of the Indian youth and to be in touch with them, the anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare decided to enter the cyberworld by opening an account on Facebook, Twitter and a blog. In his first blog, he attacked the government saying that some government agents tried to propagate and create an image that it was the handiwork of their favorite ministers that he gave up the fast at the Ramlila grounds. The Gandhian crusader said in his blog that" It was only when my inner voice permitted me I broke my fast after getting assurance from the government. The reason I am clearing the misconceptions here is I came to understand some government agents tried to propagate and create an image that it was the handiwork of their favourite ministers that I gave up my fast." Anna decided to keep in connection with the youth, who is his real strength in the anticorruption crusade, to feel their pulse through his own blog, Twitter and Facebook account. Anna, who has just passed Std VII, seemed to be unconcerned about the complexities of internet and technology. Through his official letter issued from his village Ralegansiddhi Anna said "My voice has already reached the people through print and electronics media, and now, I shall try to get comfortable with Twitter and Facebook too," "My blog shall be used for my official stand on various issues, and no one can publish on the blog without my permission."he said Sources close to Hazare stated that Anna's presence on the Internt would also help abandon rumours about him. Jaising Mapari, Sarpanch of Ralegansiddhi said that Anna's own statement can be easily detected in his periodic blog as it is difficult for Anna to give interviews to each and every media. The Twitter and Facebook account for Anna Hazare is created by Vijay Kuvlekar, chief information officer, Pune, and Raju Parulekar, noted journalist and political analyst. Speaking to IBN live Raju Parulekar said . "We take great pleasure in sending across Anna's decisions on his movement and non-violent revolution to people across the globe directly." "The blog and twitter is in Marathi, Hindi and English. If required the blog shall be translated in some other Indian and also world languages."
