CHENNAI: A young man from Tamil Nadu is making ripples in the animation world. Sirajudeen is the winner of the gold medal in the graphics animation category at the ninth Cairo Festival for Television and Radio in July. The 28-year-old is a national computers vocational training course graduate from Thopputhurai in Nagapattinam district of Tamil Nadu. He first worked as an animation artist in his father's film business. From 2000, he has been working for Sharjah Television. He was asked to design a logo for the television channel that won the award. The animated logo Sirajudeen designed showed a film projector beaming out important landmarks of the United Arab Emirates. The design so impressed his bosses that they entered it for the Cairo Festival. "My talents would have gone unrecognised if my supervisor Ibrahim Amiri and general manager Khali Mohammed had not recognised my talents," Sirajudeen, who is holidaying in India, said in Madurai.
