Amtex Systems ventures into business intelligence domain

Chennai: The U.S. based IT consulting major Amtex Systems Inc has ventured into business intelligence domain in India, partnering with another American company Information Builders Inc, a top official said here Thursday. As per the deal, Amtex Infotech Pvt Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Amtex Systems, will market WebFOCUS, a business intelligence platform, in India and share 50 percent of the revenue with Information Builders. Amtex Infotech has invested 200 million and has hired 150 people for this venture. "The new business will not only diversify our revenue stream but also enable us to look India as a market for our services and solutions," Amtex Systems president Sunny Pokala told reporters. Amtex Systems will support the global clients of Information Builders, who have set up operations in India such as Fidelity, Target and Verizon. The company is setting up a 250,000-square-feet facility at an outlay of 600 million and 400 million will be spent on business development, Pokala added.
