NEW DELHI: U.S.-based Friedman Group has tied up with the Pearl Academy of Fashion here that will enable it to offer consultancy to Indian retail companies. Under the agreement, the Pearl Academy will function as Friedman India. Harry Friedman, head of the Friedman Group, assured a seminar here Wednesday that the staff would be "100 percent Indian and (would) not import American concepts but understand the special needs of companies here". They will target lifestyle stores to start with, "since that is our area of expertise". The group was set up in 1980 and is retail's largest consulting and training organisation with over 500,000 clients worldwide, including Nike, Neiman Marcus, Kodak, Bata Shoes and Hallmark Cards.
