American Express introduces 'Pay with Points'

New Delhi: American Express, through its Membership Rewards program, introduces 'Pay with Points' an innovative feature that makes booking flights easier and faster than before for its Platinum Card members and The Platinum Reserve Credit Cardmembers. Pay with Points feature allows Cardmembers to instantly redeem Membership Rewards points for all or part of the cost of any leading airline ticket without blackout dates or restriction when booking travel through American Express Membership Travel Services. This new feature is a great complement to other travel redemption options currently available to AXP cardmembers.
According to Simran Kalra, Vice President, Product Management & Development, American Express, "In the past, American Express Cardmembers were able to convert Rewards points to frequent flyer miles with Membership Rewards' partner airlines. Now in addition, with this innovative 'Pay with Points' feature, our Cardmembers have an option to use their Membership Reward points to fly on any leading airlines free of blackout dates or restrictions or memberships to Frequent Flyer programmes."
The addition of 'Pay with Points' enables Cardmembers to consolidate all their spending across categories adding yet another unique dimension to the versatile redemption options. Utility, retail, dining spends can now be accumulated to avail of the 'Pay with Points' facility to buy air tickets directly. Simran said, "Cardmembers want a rewards program which offers everything from practical and everyday rewards to the extraordinary. The American Express Membership Rewards program combines excellent point earning potential with a comprehensive offering of premium rewards to suit the lifestyle of our cardmembers. Pay with Points is yet another example of our commitment to enhancing the Membership Reward customer experience." Cardmembers can call American Express Membership Travel Services to book tickets availing of a choice of airlines to fly including leading domestic and over 50 international airlines. Cardmembers can pay for tickets by combining points with part payment on their American Express Platinum Cards as well as pay fully with the points earned.
The Membership Rewards program from American Express offers more than 400 rewards from over 100 brands. The program allows Cardmembers to earn one point for every
