Alliance Semiconductor names new CEO

SANTA CLARA: Chip maker Alliance Semiconductor Corporation has named Melvin L Keating as interim President, Chief Executive Officer and Finance Chief. The new appointment follows by the resignation of company’s President, CEO and CFO, Damodar Reddy, who continues to serve as board Chairman. Keating has served as a special consultant to the company since October 2005. Before joining the Alliance Semiconductor, Keating was Executive Vice President, CFO and treasurer of Quovadx Inc. Shares of Alliance Semiconductor rose 7 cents, or 2.4 percent, to $2.98 on the NASDAQ. Over the past 12 months, shares of the company have traded in a range of $1.49 to $3.81, and are down 20 percent year-to-date.
