Akai unveils Symbian run Connect Book at 5,795

Bangalore: Japanese electronics company Akai has launched a new smartphone called Connect Book in India. The BlackBerry look alike is priced at 5,795 and runs on the now diminishing Symbian operating system. The Connect Book is a dual SIM QWERTY phone. It sports a 2.4 inch QVGA screen along with a 3.2 MP camera. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also packs in FM radio recording features. The memory of the phone is expandable up to 8GB with a microSD card. The phone is just another device in the ever booming low cost handset market in India. But considering it runs on Symbian, which Nokia itself is mulling to withdraw from its future, we are not sure how will the Connect Book be adopted by customers.
