Air-India revenues up by 9.8 percent

NEW DELHI: India's flag carrier Air-India (A-I) has increased its revenues in the past few years and earned a net profit of Rs 1.3 billion this year, parliament was informed Monday. In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Rajiv Pratap Rudy said A-I had earned total revenue of Rs 56.5 billion in 2002-03 and Rs 50.3 billion in the previous year. The traffic revenue, including charters and code share arrangements with other carriers, had grown by 9.8 percent to Rs 42.2 billion in 2002-03 from Rs 38.4 billion in the previous year.
