Agilent sets up chip design centre in India

BANGALORE : New York Stock Exchange-listed Agilent Technologies, the global leader offering test and measurement solutions to the communications, electronics, life sciences and chemical analysis markets, on Thursday announced the establishment of a system-on-chip (SOC) design centre in India at Gurgaon, near New Delhi . "This is the first integrated chip design centre for Agilent in India and it will provide ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) and system design services to customers of Agilent's ASIG Products Division, part of the Semiconductor Products Group", the company said in a statement. Agilent expects the SOC design centre to be staffed with approximately 50 engineers by this year-end. The centre will address all aspects of ASIC development from high-level design, logic design, physical design, verification, and system firmware design for industries such as networking, computing, imaging and storage applications, the company said. "The new centre complements existing ASIC design centres in the US , Malaysia and Singapore ", it said.
