After indicting, now JHC Chairman salutes Murthy
Bangalore: After some controversies against the House panel report on the Bengaluru International Airport, JHC (Junior Housing Committee) Chairman and BJP MLA D Hemachandra Sagar took a U-turn and thanked and saluted Infosys Chairman Narayana Murthy for his role in getting sanction for an international airport for Bangalore. Two days ago, Chairman had presented a report in assembly indicting Infosys Chief Mentor N R Narayana Murthy and MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar for the 'faulty' design and construction of the BIA. In an interview to The Times of India Chairman said, "Murthy's contribution was getting sanction to start the airport. Without him, an international airport for Bangalore would have been a dream. He and Chandrasekhar are captains of industry and have strived for this project. We can't blame them as they were not involved at implementation stage. So there is no question of initiating action against them." Regarding including their names, Sagar said, "More than my opinion, the report contains the opinions of the members. Had it been a one-man committee, I could have given my sole opinion. The JHC has functioned within the scope of 15 reference points."
