New Delhi: Taking a cue from leading private carrier Jet Airways, which earlier in the week slashed fares on 30 days' advance bookings, national carrier Air India Thursday announced summer special fares from Friday. Ranging between 1,891 and 2,901, the special fares will be available for 148 domestic sectors and will include the passenger service fee and other taxes, Air India said in a statement. Passengers, however, will have to pay the user development fee at airports in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi, apart from a few other cities. "The tickets have to be bought 30 days in advance and are non-refundable. These special fares are available till June 30," the statement said. Fares for the Delhi-Kolkata and Delhi-Hyderabad sectors will be 2,611, while those for the Delhi-Chennai and the Delhi-Thiruvananthapuram sectors will be 2901. Jet Airways Monday announced fares that are comparable to that for a train berth in an two-tier airconditioned compartment.
