Aftek Q3 net profit up 20.27%

MUMBAI: Aftek Infosys Ltd has announced a 20.27 percent increase in net profit to Rs 13.07 crore for the third quarter ended March 31, 2004, from Rs 10.87 crore during the corresponding period last year. It posted a 49.94 percent growth in net sales at Rs 36.02 crore for the third quarter ended March 31, 2004, as compared to Rs 24.03 crore for the Q3 of the previous year. For the nine months, Aftek has posted a rise of 54.73 percent in net sales from Rs 66.06 crore to Rs 102.25 crore and a 26.23 percent jump in profit after tax, from Rs 30.92 crore to Rs 39.03 crore. Operating profit during the quarter has risen by 46.67 percent to Rs 17.5 crore, from Rs 12.02 crore. The earnings per share (EPS) for the fourth quarter works out to Rs 13.07 from Rs 10.87, growth of 20.23 percent. The nine months EPS is Rs 39.03, a jump of 26.23 percent. Aftek's investment in Munich based Arexera Information Technologies GmbH has not only benefited the company to expand markets outside of the US and Japan, but it has also given a boost to its topline and bottomline. Chairman & CEO of Aftek Ranjit Dhuru said, "The acquisition has enabled us to emerge as an important player in the global knowledge management space and facilitate expansion in the European market. We are now in a position to servicing big ticket clients".
