Affle launches smartphone messaging app 'Pinch' at $0.99

New Delhi: Affle has announced the launch of its first messaging application for smartphones called Pinch. A smartphone to smartphone instant messenger application, Pinch also offers chat service with location based features, emoticons, pictures, rich animations and more importantly, push notifications. Pinch will be available at $0.99 (approx. 45). Pinch works on several platforms including iPhone 2G, 3G, 3GS, iPhone 4 (iOS4), iPod Touch, Android 2.x, Blackberry 4.x, Symbian, Web and PC. Also it supports animations across platforms, offering over 475 emoticons. Through the application, one can discover friends through contacts on their phone, Facebook, Twitter, BlackBerry, Android and email. It also allows selective sharing of location. The messaging application incorporates social leaderboard contests within the core messaging platform. For promoting the application, Affle has announced 1 free iPad every month & 25 iTunes Gift Cards every week (for the next 1 year) to the winners of the Pinch leaderboard contests. Anuj Khanna, CEO, Apple said, "Affle has successfully upgraded over 3 million SMS users to SMS2.0 in many Asian markets and we now aim to upgrade users from SMS to Pinch on Smartphones globally. Our beta users enjoyed the new experience and helped us to improve Pinch significantly for this global launch."
