Advanced Management Program on Emerging Markets
The recent business and economic trends all point to a future dominated by markets, technologies and economies of the emerging economies. The 21st century will witness a change of center of gravity of global business and economic activity from nations of the west to those of Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America. Leading this shift are Emerging Markets - nations that have recently changed their economic systems and are growing rapidly. Amongst these, China, India, Russia and Brazil ( BRIC) were identified by Goldman Sachs as the most prominent. They are expected to increase their share of global GDP by 100% over the next ten years. The recent setback to the developed economies of the US, UK and Western Europe has highlighted the importance of emerging economies once again. While the developed economies have small or negative growth rates, economies of China, India and Brazil, in particular, have rapidly recovered from setbacks and are once again on the fast track growth path. Apart from market opportunities, innovations in products, processes and business models from emerging economies are attracting attention of major global corporations like GE, IBM, Cisco etc., even as new companies from emerging economies like Airtel, Cemex Embraer, Infosys, Lenovo, Samsung, Tata group etc. are growing into global challengers. The rapid growth of emerging economies provides great opportunities for new business development and entrepreneurship in a wide range of products and services. These regions provide vast new opportunities for growth, for the companies which find the limited growth and high entry barriers in traditional markets constraining. Ambitious entrepreneurs can similarly look forward to fresh opportunities for growth in the non-traditional milieu of the emerging systems. As these regions and nations exhibit characteristics which are significantly different from those of the west, business opportunities go hand in hand with challenges of understanding diverse cultures and development of innovative business models. Organizations and businesses need to educate their senior managers on the opportunities and complexities of the new economic order and specific features of emerging markets. A new international executive program named AMPE (Advanced Masters Program on Emerging Markets) delivered at four leading business schools in the four major regions of the globe is attracting increasing attention from senior managers. Participating Schools for the program are: India: Indian Institute of Management Bangalore China: Hong Kong and Guangzhou Business Schools with sessions in Shenzhen and Guangzhou Brazil: (University of Sao Paolo Brazil with class sessions and site visits at Sao Paolo ) Eastern Europe: University of Vienna (with sessions at Vienna and Budapest) The aim of AMPE program is to prepare the entrepreneurs and organizations who wish to participate in this emerging economic order, by providing the appropriate contextual framework, understanding of markets and economic trends, awareness of the Strategies adopted by the regional players and an insight into the cross cultural management in these regions. AMPE organization follows the pattern of the highly successful AMPM program held since 2007 at Schools in India, China and the advanced economies.
