Adobe promotes Naresh Gupta to senior Vice President

NEW DELHI:Adobe Systems Inc. today announced the promotion of Naresh Gupta to senior vice president. In his new position, Gupta joins the company’s executive team and will be responsible for identifying emerging technology and business opportunities for Adobe. Gupta joined Adobe in 1996 as a member of the corporate research group where his work resulted in five patent applications. In 1998 he relocated to India to begin building an Adobe research and development center and became managing director for Adobe Systems India Pvt. Ltd. A second tower at the company’s Noida campus opened in January 2005, expanding the size of the facility by 100,000 square feet and increasing employee capacity by 450 additional employees. Prior to joining Adobe, Gupta managed the Applied AI group at LNK Corporation and helped to develop strategic worldwide defense programs. “Naresh has done an outstanding job of building and managing our Noida development facility and will be a valued member of the executive team,” said Shantanu Narayen, Adobe’s president and chief operating officer. “His focus on identifying emerging business opportunities will be critical to our ongoing success as an industry-leading software provider.” Gupta received a B. Tech in Computer Science in 1988 from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. In 1990 he earned his M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, College Park and received his Ph.D in Computer Science from the same university in 1993.
