Bangalore: It looks like Adobe and Apple are finally burying their hatchets and joining hands. Well one would believe so if the news of Adobe optimizing Flash to make it compatible with the MacBook Air is anything to go by. It was in the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco last week that Adobe's CEO Shantanu Narayen stated that there is currently a MacBook Air in their labs running a beta version of an "optimized" Flash, designed specifically for the MacBook. However, there is no specific date or any other details on the release of the optimized Flash. The MacBook Air's latest version was out in the market last month. However there was no Flash installed in that version. What made things worse was the fact that when Flash was added to the MacBook Air, it took away the battery life by up to two hours. Narayen addressed this issue by saying Adobe was looking for ways to improve battery life on MacBook Air with a new technology. Narayen also added that the performance of the battery depended on hardware acceleration. He said, "When we have access to the hardware acceleration, we have to prove that Flash has a performance of the same or better on the whole platform." Now it remains to be seen whether the optimized Flash for MacBook Air enhances the device or otherwise?
