Adobe launches $8 M facility in India

BANGALORE: — Adobe Systems Inc. today announced the opening of a second research and development center at its Noida campus in India. Adobe’s first research center in Noida, built in 2002, has supported the conceptualization and development of Adobe technologies and has filed an estimated 20 patent applications over the last three years. The completion of the second tower and expansion of the Noida facility is part of Adobe’s ongoing global business strategy. “Our expansion in India is tangible reinforcement of Adobe’s commitment to invest in innovation,” said Shantanu Narayen, President and Chief Operating Officer, Adobe Systems Inc., “Our Noida site is a critical part of our R&D operation and will continue to significantly contribute to Adobe’s future growth and progress.” “India is known internationally for its vast depth of talent in the field of computer science and technology and has become a central hub for technology development worldwide,” said Naresh Gupta, managing director of Adobe Systems India. “The world-class principles that are at the core of India’s research community have increased Adobe’s ability to pioneer and launch some of the most innovative software technology in the world, including imaging and video products, video compression, licensing technologies and publishing and document services products.” The new tower, an 8 million dollar state-of-the-art facility, will increase the size of the campus by 100,000 sq. ft. and has the capacity to accommodate approximately 450 additional employees.
