New Delhi: India's aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Tuesday asked airlines to adhere to its guidelines while flying in low visibility conditions at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. The DGCA had earlier asked the airlines to keep it informed routinely about the deployment of CAT II and CAT III pilots - trained to fly in low visibility conditions. But the DGCA Tuesday said the airlines were not adhering to these guidelines. The Delhi airport witnesses heavy fog during winters and needs the services of the Cat II and Cat III pilots to avoid flight disruptions. The DGCA said it has decided to send two officials to Delhi airport every day from Tuesday to coordinate with airlines and airport officials. The officials will also oversee rostering of Cat II and Cat III pilots for the next day.
