Actis to increase headcount by 50 percent

Mumbai: Audio Visual and Environment Control solutions provider Actis Technologies has increased its pace of hiring in the past year, and plans to continue expanding by adding another 50 percent to its net staff strength in the year ahead. The boost in hiring during the past year came as the company ramped up for the recently opened offices in Pune and Kolkata. Actis is looking to tap into the growing AV market—an outcome of strong growth in IT, ITES, Manufacturing, Education and Residential sectors in these regions. Speaking on the employee forecast for the next year Abhimanyu Gupta, Director, Actis Technologies said “We have experienced tremendous growth in the year 2006 and hence we have felt the need to substantially strengthen our workforce. This move is also strategically planned to enhance and sustain this growth further. He further added that Actis doubled its employee strength from 90 to 180 employees by the year –end of 2006. Colonel Krishna Kumar, Head HR commented, “Actis can boast of a healthy track record in terms of attrition.” He further pointed out that the company will continue its drive towards scaling manpower and supporting it with investments in the areas of technology and people skills training. The focus of the HR plan will be to achieve ‘teeth to tail’ ratio of 2:1 between sales/ marketing professionals and support staff.
