Acer ties up with Tata Sky

Mumbai: Acer India recently announced a bundle offer of Tata Sky TV satellite connection hardware with the purchase of select models of Acer desktop and notebook PCs.
The bundle includes a set-top box and an antenna free of cost. The offer is available only on Aspire 5551, Aspire 5102 and TravelMate3242 notebooks and Aspire SA80, Aspire SA17 and Aspire SA85 desktops.
S. Rajendran, General Manager-Sales & Marketing, Acer India, said, "We have introduced this offer for our customers to support their quest for digital entertainment. This offering, would cut through the clutter of festive season schemes by giving the customer a unique combination of free digital entertainment infrastructure combined with the benefits of computerization and mobility that the customer derives from the purchase of a PC. We are confident of this offer appealing to customers looking for complete home entertainment."
He added, "It is our hope that by focusing our energies on meeting the needs of the new digital world, Acer will further consolidate its position in the home PC market,"
With 250 retail outlets and 3,000-plus registered resellers across the country, Acer claimed that the initiative is a first of its kind in the PC industry and gives consumers a chance to experience and access unlimited digital entertainment with the purchase of PCs, thus giving further impetus to the drive towards a digital home.
