Accenture's headcount crosses 50,000 mark in India

Chennai: Employing more than 50,000 in India, Accenture, the global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company has joined the elite group of multinationals like IBM and Cognizant Technology Solutions, reports T.E. Raja Simhan of Business Line. Ahead of its anticipated plan of reaching 50,000 mark by 2010-end, the $22-billion US-based company crossed the mark in May. Over half of Accenture's 100,000 employees are in India. The network is a hub of the company's global innovation. In the global delivery network, the company has 100,000 employees, half of whom are in India. It has 50 global delivery centers and 19 of those are in India.
