A virtual solution to find a job
Bangalore: Finding a job can be very hard in the current market scenario and for freshers things can be even worse, but there is help on the way, courtesy the Internet. There are many job portals that claim to find a job, by just signing up on their portal, but only the lucky few get selected. With the introduction of a virtual platform that connects the academia and the industry, Job a Fair has initiated a new concept in job search. "The virtual platform helps the company to connect with the students and vice versa," says Shivaji Mukthavaram, CEO, Job a Fair. Currently, the portal is associated with over 120 colleges across India and more than 60 companies including Wipro, Fujitsu and Applabs have tie-ups with the portal. The virtual platform provided by the portal includes three main features viz. resume grabber, virtual job fair and seminar and e-recruiter. Today, every job portal is crowded with a huge number of jobseekers, puzzling the recruiter to select the right candidate. The 'Live resumes' in the portal will feature not only the contact details of the candidates, but also their entire project details, certifications etc. "The other jobsites select the resumes, based on the latest update by the candidate, but resume grabber provides the recruiter a more comprehensive view of the candidate," says Mukthavaram. At times, a person may find it difficult to travel all the way to attend a job fair that is held in a different city. The virtual fairs and seminars conducted by Job a Fair provides a platform for jobseekers and the recruiters to interact with each other. Because of it being cost-effective, it is a win-win situation for both jobseekers and recruiters. Mukthavaram said, "The job fair is held for 2-3 days depending upon the requirements and the companies." The e-recruiter feature offers the companies the benefit to search and rate colleges as its preferred institutions. These companies can hold virtual campus recruitment by creating the physical scenario using 'Room based interviews' selection process. "The e-recruiter feature is provided as a freebie to the companies," says Mukthavaram. With all these unique features Job a Fair promises to be a job portal with a difference that can facilitate the freshers in finding that precious job.
