AT&S boosts investment in China, India

Bangalore: With its utilization running at near capacity, PCB manufacturer AT&S is planning to invest Euro150 million in expanding its production capability due to the increase in demand driven by the hype in iPad, iPhone, PDAs and handheld devices. The company initially plans to upgrade its plant in India by October. If the strong demand continues, the company said that it will likewise boost its production capability in its Shanghai plant. AT&S Austria Technologie & Systemtechnik Aktiengesellschaft (AT&S) is one of the world's strongest-performing printed circuit board manufacturers. The company is especially well positioned globally in the high-tech segment of HDI Microvia printed circuit boards, which are chiefly used in mobile devices. As a high-growth international enterprise, AT&S has a global presence with three production facilities in Austria (Leoben, Fehring, Klagenfurt) as well as plants in India (Nanjangud), China (Shanghai) and Korea (Ansan, near Seoul).
