ARM to spruce up India operations

Bangalore: British semiconductor company ARM Embedded Technologies will ramp its Bangalore design center to focus more on automotive, consumer and wireless segment. ARM supplies IP to firms that mainly focus on microprocessors and SoCs. A report in Business Standard said that as ARM is shifting some of its critical IP works to India, it would hike its headcount to 340 from the current 240. Quoting Atul Arora, ARM India President, the paper said of all the ARM offices worldwide, its Bangalore office is the fastest growing and has become critical component of the company’s global operations.
