The list of most trusted people also features Amitabh Bachchan, Kiran Bedi, Sachin Tendulkar and AR Rahman. Indians also reveal some new preferences with the inclusion of Congress Party leader Rahul Gandhi, E Sreedharan and Abhinav Bindra in the top 30.
Among the most trusted professions in India, teachers lead the list followed by firefighters and humble farmers, while politicians, real estate agents, government officials and police officers are at the bottom of the Trust Survey of 40 everyday Indian professions.
The survey, which is conducted for the first time in India, carries fascinating findings from the Digest's exclusive, independent poll, which reveals the people and professions we trust and those we don't. Around 750 Indians were surveyed online and asked to rank the shortlisted individuals and professions they have the most faith in.

I was just looking for this info for some time. After six hours of continuous Googleing, finally I got it in your web site. I wonder what's the Google's problem that doesn't rank this type of informative sites closer to the top. Normally the top web sites are full of garbage.

Ofcourse Dr.APJ Abdul kalam and Ratan Tata are the gretest personalities and thier contribution to the nation is remarkable. But india is a great country with so many people contributed from different walks of life & shaped our nation. It is the collective efforts of all of them ie,from aggriculture to the science and technology, from literature to entertaintment and sports etc.
But i would say the most trusted man would be "Mahatma Gandhi".We should not forget him.He is the only accepted indian all over the world. As an indian we dont need more explanation why it is mahatma gandhi.

First of all Trusted means what in this article, either they have not involved in politics or not done any illegal thing against the India etc., Here we can say both are hard working person for India. we are talking about APJ Kalam, Ratan Tata. Ratan Tata is hard working men has raised the prestige of India by showing the world the technological competence. Tata is India's largest conglomerate and includes the brands Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Tata Power, Indian Hotels, as well as other brands labeled under the Tata name and Thousands of people are employer of Tata Group. APJ Kalam Before his term as India's president, he worked as an aeronautical engineer with DRDO and ISRO. He is popularly known as the Missile Man of India for his work on development of ballistic missile and space rocket technology. In India he is highly respected as a scientist and as an engineer. who is always full of ideas aimed at the development of the country. Dr APJ Abdul Kalam regards his work on India's nuclear weapons program as a way to assert India's place as a future superpower. Even during his tenure as President, APJ Kalam took avid interest in the spheres of India's science and technology. If we are talking about The list of most trusted people features Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar and AR Rahman. How they are important to india only for entertainment.

That's a very nice survey portrayed the truth that Mr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam and Mr.Ratan Tata are the most trusted Indians.Accoring to my knowledge,A.P.J is the best person in the billion as a great scientist as well as greatest mentor for ambitious Indians,Ratan Tata is the best pioneer for young and new entrepreneurs.Every Indian has to keep in mind that we have born to achieve greater than those leaders with their blessings.my main idea to Indians,is "Focus only on your goals rather than on obstacles",because,I Strongly believe that "one who focuses on goals, one will overcome the obstacles, but, one who focuses only on obstacles,he will never reach the goals".by karthikeyan.

It is unfortunate that politicians are so much selfish and non patriotic that they avoided to make him the President of India again. Nobody was better than him who is still inspiring people to love science and to love their country, he do not need any certificate to prove himself. CEOs, who took pride in show offs, huge salaries and perks are their mission, company becomes second and own country nowhere, should also learn that a poor hairstyle may no affect performance once a person starts his work!
With due apologies if it hurts someone.

Ratan Tata is definitely the most trusted of all Indians that is evident from the picture of Indian economy even at this time of resession. When AIG staggered it was TATA to buy out and own the 76%. Moreover Tataji is the apex of all honest businesses that lead to indigenously generated wealth proliferation. Sourly enough, what good does a scientist-turned-politician do save bringing the country under the threat of war, nuclear, chemical and biotech-weapon proliferation?Questionable people must never be allowed to build a terrorist-team in India whatever caste, creed or religion he or she belongs to for the good of mother India. Ratanji is unquestionably better than the best.

Interesting report. I believe there are a lot of unsung heroes in our society who are silently making contribution to the quality of life & welfare of society. However as they are media shy their names are not known by beyond their neighbourhood. In these days of marketing there is no cahnce of their getting unearthed by the media. Never mind, it is the way of the world
Talking about igniting young minds, this ignition is ok if it produces useful output and does not burn the system itself. Igniting of young minds has to go alongside building of character and moral values or elsse it can be counterproductive.

I don't think any of them are the best, Tata is famous company in India, but it doesn't understand the India needs, they have always exploited the natural resources available in India.Still Ratan Tata is continuing the same trend. Where as if your compare tata's with Reliance,Ambanis always proved to be better in all ways, they created wealth for poor investors and have made country proud,

Your knowledge about Tatas seems to be superficial. It is one of the most respected business houses in the world. They have upheld ethical values. Their corporate social responsibility have seen them setting up world class institutions. They look after their employees well and they have been pioneers in initiating some of the best practices in Indian labour scenario.
The contribution of Parsis, the community which Tata belongs to, is incomparable.

I fully agree with Manoj, because nothing more can be added to the fact that the wisest of All the Kings who ruled was King Soloman, who said, after 1000 wemen experiences, " you can find 1 man in 1000, but not a woman". Budha understood that after his marriage.Probably APJ and Ratanji understood while reading them.

It's well known fact that APJ is one of the most respected human being in India among the likes of Mahatma Gandhi etc. Mr.Tata is truly an inspirational Indian beyond just being an Industrialist.
I do not know if anyone noticed, these two Indians are singles. Obvious to say a man (most) is selfless in nature until a woman comes into his life.
Anyway hats off for this survey. Nice work.

DEAR MANOJ,
I WAS A FAN OF DR. KALAM. BUT NO LONGER. YOU MAY ASK WHY.
HE WAS THE PRESIDENT OF INDIA AND DID NOTHING. WE APPRECIATE HIM FOR THE WORK HE DID OUTSIDE RASHRAPATI BHAVAN.
WITH THE TRUST AND SUPPORT HE HAD FROM THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, HE COULD HAVE PUT HIS FOOT DOWN ON ISSUES OF CORRUPTION, MALNUTRITION, BLACK MONEY IN SWISS BANK (MORE THAN 75 LAKH CRORES!), ETC ETC.
BUT HE DID NOTHING.
WE CAN TRUST TATA, BECUAUSE HE DOESN'T OWN TATA GROUP. HE DOES WHAT HE SAYS. ALL TATA GROUP WAS AGAISNT HIM WHEN HE WENT FOR INDICA. SAME THING WHEN HE SHIFTED NANO TO GUJARAT. HE STOOD BY HIS WORDS AND CAME OUT SUCCESSFUL.

Dr. Vini: I appreciate your point. But you must remember Dr. Kalam need not do anything to cut corruption, black money etc. And even if he wanted to do something, it's impossible for a single human being to take up this task in a short span of 5 years. But on the other hand, he placed India on a very high level in the international scene and he did plenty of things as a researcher, academician to show the world what a president can do to improve the quality, image of the country.
I think after Dr. Shankardayal Sharma, Dr. APJ is the only President who had foresight and wisdom. Look at our current lady president - a dummy puppet and has no voice and can't think of anything constructive for the country.

What is the fun conducting this kind of surveys and what are the assumptions taken during this survey. Does this means that others who are not part of this surveys distrustful. First of all trust is the perception which changes from person to person and attitude & beliefs of every individuals.
It is better to concentrate on more productive things.

This is not conducted for fun. it never means others are not trusted. its just a survey conducted by a group of people and the reflection of their views as a result. as u mentioned trust as perception which change person to person, the result is from several persons which means it might have combination of several perception ( trust level )

TATAs are more than industrialists/ businessmen for India. It is a well known secret that TATAs stood for Indian causes over and above mere business interests, many times in the history. Do you remember that picture in which Mrs. Indira Gandhi visiting ‘Pokhran’, the venue of India’s first nuclear technology experiment, immediately after the explosion? The young man standing beside Mrs Gandhi is Mr. R Tata.

Point needs discussion and thoughts of over a billion Indians.
